Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by our professional guide who will drive you to Musanze, located near Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy the scenic 2-hour drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills and lush countryside before arriving at your lodge, where you’ll unwind with dinner and rest in preparation for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Your much-anticipated encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas begins today! After breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers. In small groups, you will embark on a thrilling trek into the dense forest to search for these gentle giants. As you traverse forested slopes and bamboo thickets, your guide will point out signs of gorilla activity such as nests and feeding spots.
Once you locate a gorilla family, you will have the rare privilege of spending one hour observing their behavior in their natural habitat. Later in the day, if time permits, you can explore the scenic twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Today, you’ll embark on another exciting wildlife encounter as you track the playful and colorful golden monkeys. After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your trek. The golden monkeys, known for their lively and mischievous nature, offer a different experience from gorilla trekking. Watch as they jump through trees and playfully interact with each other, providing an enchanting spectacle.
You’ll spend about an hour with these charming creatures, following them through the forest as they move from tree to tree.

Day 4: Hiking Mount Bisoke (3,711 m)
After breakfast, prepare for an exhilarating hike up Mount Bisoke, one of the volcanic peaks in the Virunga Mountains. Your guided hike will take you through lush forested trails, and upon reaching the summit at 3,711 meters, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding volcanoes and the stunning crater lake at the top. The hike takes approximately 5 to 7 hours, depending on the pace of the group, offering both a challenge and a breathtaking reward.

Day 5: Kigali City Tour and Departure
On your final day, you’ll be driven back to Kigali for a city tour. Immerse yourself in Rwanda’s history and culture, with visits to key landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Here, you’ll learn about the tragic events of the 1994 genocide and the remarkable resilience and recovery of the Rwandan people. Though emotional, this experience offers invaluable insights into Rwanda’s journey towards unity and healing.
Afterward, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable 5-day Rwanda adventure.
