This 7-day safari takes you through Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Starting in Tarangire National Park, known for its vast elephant herds, you’ll then explore the famous Serengeti National Park, where the annual Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras unfolds. Game drives through both Central and Western Serengeti offer incredible wildlife encounters with lions, leopards, cheetahs, and more. Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire for a Game Drive

Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, formalities are swiftly completed, allowing you to embark on an exciting adventure into one of Tanzania’s prime wildlife areas. The Tarangire River attracts the largest concentration of elephants, where you may witness massive herds, some up to 300, playing in the dust or foraging for food. Beyond elephants, the park is home to zebras, giraffes, lions, and various bird species. After the game drive, you will travel to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay at a safari lodge or tented camp.

After breakfast, you will head to the Serengeti via the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. The Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its abundant wildlife and the spectacular annual wildebeest migration. As you enter Central Serengeti, keep your eyes open for big predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as large herbivores like elephants, buffalo, and giraffes. You’ll return to your accommodation in the late evening for dinner and rest.

You’ll leave early in the morning for the Western Corridor, a hotspot for the Great Migration, especially around the Grumeti River, where you can witness wildebeest crossing the river—a dramatic scene filled with danger as crocodiles and other predators lie in wait. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Central Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay.

The next two days will be dedicated to exploring more of the Central Serengeti. The vast plains allow you to track the migratory herds and witness the predators stalking their prey. Morning and afternoon game drives offer opportunities to observe the wildlife at their most active. You will spot abundant wildlife such as Wildebeests, zebras, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, and more. Between game drives, relax at your lodge or camp, surrounded by the beauty of the Serengeti.

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a final game drive in Serengeti before traveling to the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa where you will spot wlidlife like Lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species. After a short game drive en route, you’ll arrive at your lodge on the crater rim, offering stunning views of the landscape.

The final day begins with an early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. Known as Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” this caldera is home to a wide array of wildlife, including the Big Five lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the endangered black rhino. You will enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool before ascending from the crater and heading back to Arusha, where your adventure concludes.
